About Eli

Eli & Dutch ride - wide 1600xEli arrived in Vancouver in June 1998 directly from Winnipeg by way of a ten year layover in Whitehorse, Yukon. He now lives in East Vancouver with his extremely exotic Japanese Mexican partner, whom he imported directly from a rather less exotic United States of America.

Eli’s early exposure to photography and vice versa, was shooting black and white canned Kodak T-Max in high-school. Despite that traumatic experience he would continue his pursuit of black & white photography, adhering to a fairly strictly to a diet of Ilford 200 film, he would also overexpose equally questionable images with Fujichrome Velvia 100 for most its life (1990-2005). Much of his film was unwound in a black* Nikon F50 (known as the N50 in the US of A).

Eli spends the bulk of his hours as an IT management gun-for-hire, designing better ways to do things with things that plug in to other things. When not tending goal for one of his many hockey teams, careening down mountainsides on his bicyle, trail running, entertaining his faithful canine companion, or traveling the world in an effort to taste the entire planet, he commits the remaining femtoseconds to this opus of photographic journalism.
